Report: Steelers TE Matt Spaeth Expected To Be Out 8-10 Weeks With Lisfranc Sprain

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette now reports that Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Matt Spaeth has Lis Franc sprain and is expected to be out 8-10 weeks.

This doesn\’t sound like it will end his season like the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported as being possible, but the Steelers might be forced to use the injured reserve with designation to return tag on him if they feel he can be back later in the season. They wont have to make that decision for several weeks, however, so they should have a better idea of where his rehab is at come the final cut down date.

Regardless, he will be sidelined for the start of the regular season, so that\’s the short term look at it.
