Report: Steelers CB Curtis Brown Back In Pads Wednesday

According to Chris Bradford of the Beaver County Times on Twitter, Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Curtis Brown (ankle) is back in pads Wednesday.

Brown injured an ankle nine days ago in practice and has been sidelined ever since. The injury unfortunately forced him to miss the first preseason game Saturday night against the New York Giants, so we all hope he can stay on the field this week and play Monday night in the second preseason game against the Washington Redskins.

The Steelers have suffered through several injuries at the cornerback position since training camp started as Brown, Cortez Allen (knee), DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring) and rookie Terry Hawthorne (knee) were all sidelined together for quite a while.

Hawthorne returned to practice on Monday, but is unclear if he his practicing again on Wednesday. Allen is expected to be sidelined for a little while longer as he continues to recover from minor knee surgery.
