Steelers T Mike Adams Sends Out Post Surgery Picture Following Stabbing

Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Mike Adams, who was stabbed in the stomach early Saturday morning during an attempted robbery of his truck, has now posted a picture of himself laying in a hospital bed following surgery. Adams appears to have two pretty good size bandages on his mid-section and early reports suggest he will be sidelined until the start of training camp.

Luckily for Adams, no vital organs were affected, but being as the injury needed surgery to repair, you have to wonder how much lifting and training he will be able to do over the course of the next eight weeks and as a result, what kind of shape he\’ll be in when the team reports to Latrobe.

I\’m certainly not a doctor, but hopefully after five weeks or so Adams can get back in the weight room which would give him three weeks worth of training time to build up whatever strength he may have lost during his inactivity. However, it will not be totally surprising if he starts training camp off on the Active PUP list just as a precaution.

While the stabbing injury is unfortunate, at least it happened now instead of closer to the start of training camp. In the meantime, the Steelers will have to make through their remaining OTA session and mandatory mini camp without the services of their starting right tackle.
