Former Steelers WR Limas Sweed Drops Saskatchewan Roughriders

The professional football career of former Pittsburgh Steelers second round draft pick Limas Sweed is likely now over as Rod Pedersen, the play-by-play broadcaster for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, reports Sweed was placed on the team\’s suspended list after he walked off the practice field at the start of training camp.

Last year Sweed worked out for both the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals, but reportedly did not look good and as a result he chose to go to Canada to play and was added to the practice squad of the Roughriders toward the end of last year.

Sweed had problems dropping the football during his time with the Steelers which came to an end in August of 2011 when he was waived injured. It\’s a sad story and hopefully Sweed is able to now get on with life after football.
