Report: Steelers Have Interest In Redskins Free Agent LB Lorenzo Alexander

Mark Maske of the Washington Post reported on Tuesday that the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of several teams that has interest in Washington Redskins free agent linebacker Lorenzo Alexander.

Alexander is a solid special teams player and new Steelers special teams coach Danny Smith knows him well from his time spent with the Redskins as their special teams coach. Alexander made the pro Bowl this past season as a special teams player.

Alexander was originally signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He has spent the last seven season in Washington with the Redskins.

Last season Alexander recorded 46 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in 325 snaps on defense, mostly at the outside linebacker position.
