Dwayne Bowe Now Third Highest Paid Wide Receiver In NFL

The Kansas City Chiefs locked up wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on Monday with a five-year, $56 million contract which certainly brought a smile to the face of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace, who will be an unrestricted free agent one week from today.

PFT has the details of the contract signed by Bowe and I have it formatted out below along with the cap charges for each year to help you better see the structure.

The deal is pretty straight forward. It includes a $15 million signing bonus and workout bonuses of $250,000 in every year. The base salaries for Bowe by year are $750,000, $8,750,000, $10,750,000, $9,750,000 and $9,750,000.

Bowe is now the third highest paid receiver in the league from a yearly average value standpoint. Only Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson are ahead of him. You have to think that Wallace will be able to top Bowes\’ numbers.
