Todd Haley To Interview With Cardinals

The Pittsburgh Steelers have given permission to the Arizona Cardinals to interview offensive coordinator Todd Haley for their vacant head coaching position. Haley, who just completed his first season in Pittsburgh as the offensive coordinator, held that same position in Arizona from 2007-2008.

The Cardinals fired Ken Whisenhunt this past Monday after six seasons. Whisenhunt led the Cardinals to Super Bowl XLIII in his second season as the head coach but lost to the Steelers with Haley as his offensive coordinator. Whisenhunt was also the Steelers offensive coordinator from 2004–2006.

Haley was the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs for nearly three seasons and was fired on December 12, 2011, after leading his team to a 5-8 record during the 2011 NFL season.

Haley was asked about returning to head coaching after the season ended and said said that he is more than happy being the Steelers offensive coordinator.

“Really it isn’t anything I am thinking about,” Haley said about being a possible candidate for opening head coaching jobs. “I’ve said a bunch of times, and even when I came in and sat down with Mike (Tomlin) earlier on, this is where I want to be.”
