Steelers Versus Titans Projected Inactive List

With the Wednesday injury report now out for the Pittsburgh Steelers week 6 Thursday night game in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans it is now time to look at the projected inactive list for the game.

The list will once again be shaken up this week as both Troy Polamalu and LaMarr Woodley have been ruled out with injuries. The official inactive list is announced 90 minutes prior to kickoff and we will have them posted on the site as soon as they are announced.

Charlie Batch – No rocket science here as Batch remains the number three quarterback and will once again be inactive Thursday night.

Troy Polamalu – Polamalu reinjured his right calf early in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles and was ruled out on Monday. The safety was spotted wearing a boot this week, and the way he hopped off of the field on Sunday, it would lead you to believe that he will miss more than just one game. Ryan Mundy and Will Allen are expected to both see time at strong safety while Polamalu is sidelined and rookie Robert Golden should dress for depth purposes as a result.

LaMarr Woodley – As fate would have it, Woodley suffered a mild right hamstring strain on the same play that Polamalu was injured on. He was ruled out on Wednesday, and although head coach Mike Tomlin deemed it a mild strain, expect the Steelers to be very cautious with Woodley moving forward. That could mean that he might miss the week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals as well, but it is way too early to tell. In the meantime Jason Worilds will start in his place at left outside linebacker.

Jonathan Dwyer – With Rashard Mendenhall back healthy we can more than likely expect to see Dwyer on the inactive list for a while baring any injuries to the other running backs. Baron Batch plays on all of the main special teams units, so there is no way he sits.

Adrian Robinson – With Woodley out I suspect Brandon Johnson will get a helmet this week over Robinson because of his special teams play. Both Johnson and Robinson were inactive last week and it certainly will be one of the two down again Thursday night.

Kelvin BeachumMike Adams returned to action last week after sitting out the game against the Oakland Raiders with a back injury. As a result, Beachum was inactive and I expect that to continue moving forward.

Alameda Ta\’amu – It will likely be a while until we see Ta\’amu dress for a game.

Weslye Saunders – The Steelers received a roster exemption for Saunders due to the short week and have yet to activate him to the 53 man roster. The time away due to his four game suspension, combined with the quick turnaround between games, will likely result in Saunders waiting until week 7 to make his season debut. Being as Saunders is not on the 53 man roster, the Steelers might not need to list him as an 8th inactive. Regardless of how that rule works, he will not play unless a roster move is made between now and gametime.
