Steelers Injury Report: Mendenhall & Redman Out, Pouncey Questionable

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up their final practice of the week on Friday in preparation for their Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals and the final injury report of the week is now out.

Running backs Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle) both failed to work this week in practice and both will not play Sunday night as both have been ruled out.

With both running backs out for the game, Jonathan Dwyer will make his first career start in their absence. Dwyer has been inactive for the last two games and will be backed up by Baron Batch and Chris Rainey.

Safety Troy Polamalu (calf), tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) and linebacker Chris Carter (hamstring) were also ruled out on Friday as expected. With Gilbert out, rookie Mike Adams will make his first career start at right tackle.

Center Maurkice Pouncey (knee) was limited in practice for a second straight day and took part in some drills. He is officially listed as questionable and he seems to think he will play Sunday night.

Linebackers Lawrence Timmons (foot) and Brandon Johnson (hamstring) practiced for a second straight day on Friday and both head into the weekend listed as probable.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) took all of the snaps Friday in practice after rolling his ankle late in practice on Thursday. He is not listed on the injury report and will start as expected.
