Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times reports via Twitter Tuesday morning that he has been told that Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace is back in Pittsburgh today.
Wallace had last been spotted working out down in Orlando, Florida with trainer Tom Shaw down at the Wide World of Sports complex. Last week several teammates were very optimistic that Wallace could possibly be in this week, while cornerback Ike Taylor said that he thought it could be the week after before Wallace reported and signed his $2.74 million restricted tender.
Wallace has now made missed all of the offseason program, all of training camp, and the Steelers first two preseason games. Reporting this week and signing his tender would allow Wallace enough time to get acclimated with the new offense and time to continue negotiations on a new long-term deal.
