Plaxico Burress Helps Mike Tomlin Out With His Football Camp

This is how rumors get started.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his All-Star Football camp on Friday and Saturday at Christopher Newport University, located in Newport News, Virginia. Tomlin is of course from that area and Tomlin is a very active supporter of the Hampton Roads Youth Foundation in addition.

Several NFL players who hail from the area also helped Tomlin out with his camp and that included former Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who flew up from his home in South Florida to help out. The Steelers of course looked into signing Burress last offseason, following his release from prison, but he instead ended up signing with the New York Jets. Burress is currently now a free agent once again following his one season in New York.

Although many will try to read into Burress helping Tomlin out, I wouldn\’t. Barring injury or a lengthy Mike Wallace holdout, the Steelers are set at the wide receiver position. The Steelers also do not have the cap room to afford much more than a one-year deal veteran minimum deal for Burress.

All of that said, you can watch a few interviews done with both Tomlin and Burress below.
