1972 Steelers Versus Vikings Week 11 Game Surfaces On Youtube

Do you like watching replays of old Pittsburgh Steelers games like I do? If so, then you will be thrilled to know the Steelers week 11 game of the 1972 season against the Minnesota Vikings has now surfaced on Youtube.

The game took place on November 26, 1972 at Three Rivers Stadium and was broadcast on CBS and features Jack Drees and George Connor calling the game. The Steelers won the game 23-10 as running back Franco Harris ran for 128 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. The Steelers as a team rushed for 206 yards in the game and quarterback Terry Bradshaw was 7-of-19 passing for 93 yards with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Frank Lewis.

The Vikings were of course were led by quarterback Fran Tarkenton, who was 24-for-43 passing in the game for 235 yards. He threw 1 touchdown pass to tight end Stu Voigt and was intercepted just once by Steelers defensive back John Rowser on the final play of the game.

The Steelers would go on to finish the season 11-3 and win the AFC Central Division. After beating the Oakland Raiders 13-7 in the divisional round of the playoffs on the famous Immaculate Reception, the Steelers lost to the Miami Dolphins 21-17 in the AFC Conference Championship game.
