Steelers Browns Week 17 Offensive Participation Chart & Personnel

Below are the offensive personnel packages, play counts and participation chart for the Pittsburgh Steelers week 17 win on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

It is not surprising that Hines Ward saw 26 snaps in this game as they looked to feed him the ball to get him to his 1,000th career reception. Emmanuel Sanders saw 23 non-penalty snaps in his return to action. Rookie running back John Clay received extra playing time due to the early ACL knee injury to Rashard Mendenhall, and saw 15 non-penalty snaps.

Personnel wise we saw the return of the 0 personnel grouping this past week with 5 wide receivers on the field. 3 times that was used on non-penalty plays and 8 times we saw 4 wide receivers on the field. 2 or more tight ends were on the field for 27 of the 78 non-penalty plays and it might have been more had David Johnson not banged up his elbow.

Trai Essex saw time at both left and right guard on Sunday as Chris Kemoeatu and Ramon Foster were both banged up at different times.
