Season 2, Episode 49 of The Terrible Podcast is up and I David Todd joins me via a cellphone as he drives back to Pittsburgh after his Thanksgiving visit down to Georgia. Please excuse the call quality in this episode for that very reason.
David and I get right to it as we break down the Steelers sloppy win Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. We go over the injuries at the beginning of the show and make sure to talk about the concussion suffered by Troy Polamalu in the first quarter and discuss how his style of play has probably lent itself to his head injuries over the years. We move on to the game and both of us agree that neither thought the Steelers were ever in jeopardy of losing the game until the Chiefs final drive started. At that point, anything can happen. We explain.
We go over the good, the bad and the ugly from the game and discuss several of the shenanigans that lead to the game being so close. We look at the drops by Mike Wallace, the fumble by Mewelde Moore and the forced turnovers by the Steelers defense amongst a few other items from the game. We also discuss how glad we are that Shaun Suisham was given the chance to knock home a 49 yard field goal before the half ended and if we should have a little more confidence in him going forward now.
We break down several of the Steelers drives on offense and how things could have been better. We move in a few different directions in this episode as we recap the game.
We will be back on Wednesday to discuss more from the game and hopefully will have another Bengals beat writer on again to start discussing the Sunday game against the Bengals.
