Pouncey To Return To Practice Today & Should Play Friday

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey talked to the media today in-between practices today and he was asked about his injured ankle that has prevented him from practicing on Friday and Saturday. Pouncey said the injury was to his left ankle, the same one that prevented him from playing in the Super Bowl against the Packers, but thinks he should be on the practice field this afternoon and should be ready to play Friday when the Steelers play the Redskins in their first preseason game of the year.

The Steelers offensive line has been dinged up at the start of camp as left guard Chris Kemoeatu remains on the active PUP list and rookie Marcus Gilbert has missed a week with a hamstring injury. Along with Kemoeatu and Gilbert, left tackle Jonathan Scott and right guard Ramon Foster both left practice early on Saturday with minor injuries. Gilbert stated yesterday on Twitter that he looks to return today while early Monday reports state that Scott and Foster both could return the practice field this afternoon as well.
