Dulac Reports Polamalu Could Miss Jets Game & Be Out Until Playoffs

Steeler Nation is a buzz this morning following a report by Gerry Dulac of the Post Gazette that stated that Steelers safety Troy Polamalu will likely sit out the week 15 Sunday game against the New York Jets. Since the morning report, Dulac has come out and said that he would not be surprised if Polamalu doesn’t play the rest of the regular season. The nature of what the injury is that is hampering him the most is still unclear. Some say calf, some say ankle and even others say it could be an Achilles tendon-type of problem. Judging by the interception return last Sunday against the Bengals, it indeed looked like he rolled his ankle. The Friday injury report will be released in a few hours and should shed a little more light on at least his status for this coming Sunday. Polamalu has rested on Wednesday and Thursday in previous weeks, but has always worked in some capacity on Friday. Should the Steelers clinch at least a playoff spot this week, it would not be far fetched to indeed see the Steelers sit him down for the final two games against the Panthers and the Browns.
