Steelers Six From Around The Web – Friday October 8th – Be Very Very Quiet, Deebo Hunting Bison Edition

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently did a sit down interview with his mentor Merril Hoge for ESPN. Roethlisberger reflects on his troubled past several months and admitted he even contemplated giving up football.

Head coach Mike Tomlin says Ben Roethlisberger looked sharp in his first week back of practice. Quarterback Charlie Batch, defensive end Aaron Smith, wide receiver Hines Ward, linebacker James Farrior and right tackle Flozell Adams were all given time off this week.

Defensive tackle Steve McLendon was waived on Thursday as the roster exemption for the returning Ben Roethlisberger must have ended. Look for McLendon to be signed back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Steelers linebacker James Harrison is going to hunt bison on his bye week time off says Ed Bouchette in his latest blog post. That must be a sight for sure.

The NFL is accusing several Steelers players like Ryan Clark of distorting what happened during a mandatory Tuesday meeting on the eve of a unanimous vote to decertify the union.

Teresa Varley of Steelers.com recently sat down with rookie wide receiver Antonio Brown in this edition of The Steelers Speak.
