Mike Tomlin started with praising of other team and going over the Ravens positionally.

Says Ravens bring out best in Steelers.

Tomlin joked no new injuries at quarterback position this week.

Says Charlie Batch leading team against Baltimore. Says Batch is a man taking advantage of opportunity. Young guys can learn from him.

Dennis Dixon came out of surgery fine says Dixon’s not a candidate for IR this week, but injuries are a part of football.

Tomlin calls Chris Hoke (knee) & Trai Essex (ankle) questionable. Both could work later in the week and not ready to rule either out. Will Allen & Ziggy Hood had ankle sprains should be fine as is Anthony Madison with a hamstring. All could be limited to start the week.

Says Doug Legursky represented himself well at right guard and jokes might be reason Trai Essex is feeling better this week.

Says Charlie Batch leading team against Baltimore. Man taken advantage of opportunity. Young guys can learn from him.

Says Lawrence Timmons has played fast since he has been here.

Tomlin glad Ed Reed is not playing for Baltimore this week.

Tomlin tips hat to William Gay given the situation. Says he has fallen back into a sub-package role and hasn’t muttered a peep, he’s always ready, he’s always into the game and he’s making plays.

Tomlin trusted Charlie Batch with more this week than did previous weeks with Dennis Dixon.

Maurkice Pouncey is doing a very nice job but we don’t grade on a curve says Tomlin. He has a very tall challenge this week. He will be introduced to the Ravens/Steelers rivalry pretty quickly.

Tomlin says Haloti Ngata is as dominant a defensive linemen as there is in football right now.

Tomlin states they can potentially get by with five defensive linemen this Sunday against Ravens, but they are hoping Hoke can play.

Right now Antonio Brown has the helmet so to speak says Tomlin. He got some snaps in at the wide receiver position last few games.

Teases receiver Mike Wallace openly and calls him a one-trick pony. Says he is a young guy and a hard worker who has a distinguishing characteristic but wants to be a more well-rounded player. Tomlin is going to continue to challenge him in those areas.

Tomlin said he is not worried if the NFL expands to 18 games as long as other teams are playing 18 along with them and not 16 games.

Tomlin laughs when asked if Essex needs to win job back from Legursky. Says Legursky played well.

Tomlin has not decided on our bye-week activities regarding Ben Roethlisberger. The decision will come after he sees how the team plays this Sunday.

Daniel Sepulveda done a nice job punting so far and the field-position game has been big for team. Also said Jeff Reed has done a nice job taking advantage of scoring opportunities. Tomlin says team hasn\’t taken advantage of touchdown opportunities, but they have scored every time in the red zone.
