Steelers Six From Around The Web – Monday June 26th – Tweeting With Emmanuel Edition

Doug Farrar of Yahoo Sports and Football Outsiders has contributed an article as part of Yahoo\’s Under Surveillance series prior to NFL training camps that looks at the major strengths and weaknesses of all 32 NFL teams. Farrar points out the Steelers biggest weakness being the inability to run the ball consistently and offers up a solution of more bunch receiver formations in 2010 and how the Steelers ran effectively out of that formation in 2009.

Steelers.com has posted part 1 of their “Ask The Steelers” segment with wide receiver Antwaan Randle El. El talks about leaving the Steelers after the 2005 season and then watching them win another Super Bowl without him.

Mike Prisuta of Steel City Insider has a good snapshot article on converted defensive end turned fullback Demetrius Taylor. Taylor impressed enough during spring drills for the Steelers to perhaps take a longer look at training camp. He just needs to survive two more signings of draft picks and 33 days to get that shot.

Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians would have loved having the chance to coach former UAB standout and current Viking Joe Webb according to The Birmingham News. Webb was one of the staff members working at the Arians Pro Football Academy Camp at Hoover High in Alabama this past weekend. Contrary to belief, Arians did not ignore the players at camp who strive to be fullbacks.

We got a chance to briefly ask a few questions of rookie wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders on Twitter and hope to have an interview with him posted soon as well. Sanders indicated to us he is hovering around 190 pounds is all muscle while, keeping the body fat down and the 40 time low. Sanders is pretty active on Facebook and Twitter, so make sure to follow him on both places.

You may notice a new sponsor banner on site as we are now promoting Steeler merchandise for The Pittsburgh Fan. You will recognize them from Across the Way from PNC Park. They have a fantastic online department as well for ordering your Steeler Gear anywhere in the country.
